Oversize Fender® Stratocaster® guitars were creatively transformed into works of art by local artists and national celebrities and displayed on the city's streets. Corporations, organizations and individuals sponsored the guitars and selected from a variety of local artists to paint, sculpt or decorate them. Celebrity artists were also recruited to paint and decorate guitars.
At the end of the display period, the guitars were auctioned at a gala event at the Rock Hall. A select group of the guitars has been replicated as miniature collectibles. Each guitar comes with a metal stand and fitted guitar case.
Custom finish and airbrush king, Ron Fleenor, created this vivid orange racing design as an homage to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s management company, JR Motorsport. Fleenor blended in classic racing graphics, such as hot rod flames edged in chrome and ghosted logos in his design. The mahogany wood grain Fleenor custom painted on the guitar's headstock also lends a vintage racing feel to the guitar.
