The artist: Leo Li was educated as an interior decorator in the early '90s. After a successful career, he found a new passion in the porcelain arts. Leo is both an artist and a ceramicist; creating his works on paper and then moulding his art into porcelain. His success as a porcelain artist came fast and now he has established his own art guild with a team of talented ceramicists. The technique: There are three steps involved in the production of each exquisite piece, First the imagery is sketched onto the raw bisque and then the slip trailing (raised line work) is carefully applied. Next comes the initial firing, then the painting is done and a second firing takes place. The item is then dipped in a glaze solution. Left to dry for a few hours, it is then put through a third and final firing. The result is a beautiful and rich finish with a brilliant glaze.
